United States U-23 team downed by Colombia, will miss second straight Olympics

The Road to Rio hit a dead-end on Tuesday night in Frisco when the Colombian U-23 national team out powered, and out classed the U.S. U-23 national team for 90 minutes plus stoppage time on its way to a 2-1 victory – 3-2 on aggregate.

It is the second straight Olympics the United States will miss in the soccer competition.

Mexico 3, Jamaica 1 – Gold Cup Final

Mexico had said from the very beginning that they were going to win the Gold Cup; however, all of the preliminary as well as the final few games looked to prove otherwise. Mexico either tied or kept a close match to every country they came up against. Critics assumed that they would not make it very far. This final game against Jamaica heightened the spirits of Mexico after an obviously dominant match and a 3-1 win.

The 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup finishes on Sunday, and while one of the region’s behemoths is there, another is missing. Mexico found a way to make the final in part possibly due to some questionable circumstances, but Jamaica is in the final on their own merit and look to continue their form.
