SAN ANTONIO, Texas _ In late Spring you’ll hear Arsenal Supporters start signing ‘She wore a yellow ribbon’ if the Gunners make it to the FA Cup Semi Finals/Finals at Wembley Stadium. On Saturday night at Toyota Stadium the Scorpion faithful should have been signing ‘the referee wore a yellow shirt and he has a pocket full of yellow cards”; seven to be exact. Friendly Matches are supposed to be what their namesake says – “Friendly”. The International “Friendly” between the Scorpions and Club Sport Cartaginés played out like there were 3 points and a championship or relegation on the line.

While the NASL takes its break between the Spring and Fall seasons, the Scorpions will play host to Club Sport Cartaginés of the Costa Rican Primera División. San Antonio is looking to pick up some momentum from the Spring season and defend their championship run from last year.

San Antonio got exactly what they were expecting this past Saturday night against Ottawa Fury FC – a defensive battle that left each team walking away with 1 point after the 0-0 draw at Toyota Field. Considering that a pre-match injury cost the Scorpions their starting goalkeeper, that was a very positive result.

San Antonio came out of Atlanta with exactly what they went there to accomplish – a 1-0 victory and 3 points. The victory catapulted the Scorpions from 9th in the table to 6th for the NASL Spring Season, which could be crucial to the final playoff standings.
