Dallas City FC will be playing its fifth game at home for the 2015 season against another DFW area team, the Liverpool Warriors, and despite some recent bad results the White Lions remain in 4th place of the South Central Conference of the NPSL. At the moment Dallas City FC is in apposition to make the playoffs.
Dallas City FC and Liverpool will face each other this Saturday for the second consecutive time this season. Last Tuesday the Lions lost to the Warriors playing with 9 players for more than 45 minutes.
The Fort Worth Vaqueros became the first team of the season to take a point from the Corinthians in San Antonio, earning a 1-1 against the South Central Conference leaders.
Corinthians entered the match with a perfect 7-0 record but now sits 7-0-1 for 22 points.
The Texas Spurs come into the weekend playing well in their inaugural season, and will be taking on two Houston teams at home on Friday and Sunday. The first game will begin at 5pm on Friday June 11th at Dallas Christian College against the Houston Aces, one of the stronger returning teams in the WPSL.
The second game will be on Sunday June 13th against the Texas Titans, a new brand new WPSL team this season. Both games will be a battle and the Texas Spurs is looking to collect six points to keep their position at the top of the Big Sky conference on their home field this weekend.
The US advanced in the FIFA U-20 World Cup with a 1-0 victory over Colombia in the knockout stages. Against the run of play, Rubio Rubin scored with a quick reaction to give the US the lead, and Zack Steffen made the save off of Kellyn Acosta’s foul in the area to preserve the win.
FORT WORTH, Texas _ It took some heroics from Fort Worth goalkeeper Arturo Sanchez, but the Vaqueros bounced back from their recent loss to FC Wichita with a 1-0 shutout of the Joplin Demize. It was Fort Worth’s first win of the season, moving their record to 1-2-2, 5 points, while the Joplin Demize fell to 4-1-1, 13 points. Joplin defeated Fort Worth 2-1 in Missouri on May 23, so it was a bit of payback match for the Vaqueros.
For those who started with us in the way back machine, we started with the Dallas Sidekicks and FC Dallas coverage. This past March, we were able to really step up our game when we added Fletcher Whiteley and Clay Massey to our roster and it has been great to see the reaction so far.
But we have always wanted to be more than just FC Dallas and the Sidekicks, and as we grow into that, we need to make it easier for you to navigate the site to see different aspects, so look for that to be happening in the very near future. We also are looking to upgrade some of the other features and the overall look of the site.
In case you do not get enough soccer, and who does, here is some information about the local NPSL and WPSL clubs. Both the Women’s Premier Soccer League and National Premier Soccer League are semi-pro/high-level amateur league where you will find players usually with college experience.

FORT WORTH _ A sluggish start to Thursday’s match left the Vaqueros in a deep first half hole that they were not able to overcome as they fell 5-0 to the visiting FC Wichita at Texas Wesleyan’s Martin Field.
A rowdy crowd on College Night mixed with the Panther City Hellfire created a chanting, singing, drum beating atmosphere on a beautiful Thursday night, but it wasn’t enough to push the Vaqueros (0-2-2, 2 points) to victory.
The US is assured of advancing in this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup thanks to a resounding performance over the host nation earlier today as they beat New Zealand 4-0, led by Dallas products Emerson Hyndman of Fulham and Kellyn Acosta of FC Dallas.
Despite a poor start that saw them down 1-0 in the first nine minutes of their FIFA U-20 World Cup match to soccer minnows Myanmar, the US came back to tie the game in the first half, and then Emerson Hyndman, grandson of long time SMU and recent FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman, got on the end of a US counterattack to give the US their first lead and win of the tournament.
