According to a report by Ives Galarcep of soccer website Goal USA, FC Dallas forward Fabian Castillo is soon to be a member of Turkish side Trabzonspor, with FC Dallas set to sell the Colombian for between three and four million dollars.
Talk of a transfer for the 24 year-old Castillo has been present for some time now, although the chatter has died down since a rumored move to Club America last November did not come to fruition. However, while the rumored move to the Mexican club was in the neighborhood of eight million dollars, the proposed deal with Trabzonspor would be worth only half that amount.
As it stands though, the Turkish side Trabzonspor has emerged as a suitor for Castillo, after finishing 12th in last season’s Turkish Super Lig.
Castillo first joined FC Dallas in 2011 from Colombia’s Deportivo Cali, and has become a star attacking presence with the MLS side. Castillo has scored a total of 37 goals for FC Dallas in all competitions over the past five years, including six goals in MLS and U.S. Open Cup play this year alone.
While at Dallas, Castillo has also broken into the Colombian National Team, making three appearances for Los Cafeteros.
Castillo signed a five-year contract with FC Dallas in February of 2015, although if reports are to be true, he would be leaving the club less than two years into that deal.
