The latest forward to be linked to a signing with FC Dallas is Brazilian player Getterson Alves dos Santos. Getterson most recently played for Brazilian side J. Malucelli Futebol in the Campeonato Paranaense, which is the highest league in the Brazilian state of Parana.
According to a report from Globo Esporte, a Brazilian sports news site, Getterson had previously agreed to a contract with Sao Paulo FC, members of the Brazilian Serie A and three-time winners of the Copa Libertadores.
However, Getterson was both signed and released in the same day by Sao Paulo, after past social media postings from Getterson revealed unflattering comments about the club according to the Globo Esporte report.
Getterson’s agent, Nene, was mentioned in the report as saying that he believes the FC Dallas deal will be finalized and completed by Monday, but he was hesitant to confirm the signing. Nene went on to say that FC Dallas had been in talks for Getterson even prior to the situation with Sao Paulo, and that Brazilian club Corinthians also showed interest in the player.
Getterson has spent the entirety of his career in Brazil, spending the vast majority of it with J. Malucelli with the exception of a brief loan in 2015 to Volta Redonda.
The 25 year-old made 13 appearances this past season for J. Malucelli, scoring five goals and recording one assist in just under 1200 minutes played for his club side.
The Getterson deal was first mentioned on the J. Malucelli club Twitter feed, with the post stating that the forward was on his way to his new club FC Dallas.
The Globo Esporte report was picked up first by FC Dallas site 3rd Degree.
