FC Dallas go to South America to make one of the bigger moves of the 2015 off-season so far. The club has signed 28 year old defensive midfielder Juan Esteban Ortiz from Independiente Medellín of the Colombian first division, pending P-1 Visa and ITC
Ortiz has played 241 matches in the Colombian first division, between three Colombian clubs. This included a stint along side former FC Dallas star and 2010 MLS MVP, David Ferreira, at Atletico Hulia.
Oscar Pareja also got his start as a player at Medellín in 1987. This seems to mark the end of the road with Argentine midfielder, Ezequiel Cirigliano, who joined on loan from River Plate last season. Despite Cirigliano never being officially announced to be released by the club.
