Lineup Prediction and Analysis: September 27, 2015

Once again, FC Dallas heads into a game where they could really become the favorite for the Supporters’ Shield. Vancouver and the Red Bulls all lost this weekend. Seattle and Sporting Kansas City drawing today, Dallas could really take advantage of the shield race with a result tonight. Unlike last week, don’t expect Dallas to sit back. They know they need points and they will likely go with a lineup that probably gives them the chance to do that.

Goalkeeper: Jesse Gonzalez

This is a toss up between him and veteran Dan Kennedy. I think Kennedy is the better of the two, but Gonzalez is in better form right now. Kennedy likely returns next week.

Left Back: Je-Vaughn Watson

Watson has always played center back against Los Angeles each time this season because of injuries or paternity leave. He gets to play his natural position this week and will have less responsibilities which should help him against Los Angeles.

Center Back: Matt Hedges

Hedges needs a big game. He knows the team is in shield contention. Hedges at first just wanted the team to get hot at right time. Now he wants the shield.

Center Back: Zach Loyd

Funny fact here. Loyd has played in zero games against Los Angeles this season.

Right Back: Atiba Harris

Another guy who needs to come in, push Los Angeles around, and help keep a clean sheet. That’s asking a lot, but he has the ability to.

Central Defensive Midfielder: Victor Ulloa

Ulloa will be responsible for stopping the counter of Los Angeles. Defensively, he needs a big game even if he does zero on offense.

Central Defensive Midfielder: Kellyn Acosta

Acosta has talented and when on he can be one of the best on the field. When frustrated, he makes dumb mistakes. He needs to keep his composure.

Left Attacking Midfielder: Fabian Castillo

Castillo got a bit of a break last week. He needs to find a way to break down the Galaxy defense.

Central Attacking Midfielder: Mauro Diaz

Which Mauro will we see tonight?

Right Attacking Midfielder: Micheal Barrios

Barrios is looking like a steal right now.

Striker: David Texeira

Mauro is most comfortable with him at striker

Analysis: Big game feel as this game was moved to Sunday just so it could be on national TV. Galaxy need a win to stay alive for top two seed. Dallas needs a point to continue their quest for the shield. Dallas will not sit back this week I don’t think. I think they go at Los Angeles. However, Los Angeles finds one late…to tie.

Game ends 1-1.
