San Antonio v. Jacksonville Recap

Jacksonville- After waiting two and a half hours for a weather delay the Jacksonville Armanda faced off against the San Antonio Scorpions in a redemption match from the week before. The Scoprions were able to come away with one point in a 0-0 draw and their second straight shutout of the Armada.

While there weren’t a lot of scoring opportunities available for either team, Jemal Johnson had Jacksonville’s best opportunity when he nailed a shot into the right upper 90 of the goal, only to be ruled off sides. San Antonio’s Billy Forbes came into this match off the bench after scoring the game wining goal in last weeks contest. In the 58’ Omar Cummings found Forbes in the box with a cross. Unfortunately Forbes’ touch sent the ball over the crossbar.

Currently the Scorpions sit only 6 points out of a playoff spot and have at least a game in hand against the top 7 teams in the table. San Antonio will be tested when the Fall-Season table leaders Ottawa come into Toyota Stadium this Saturday at 7:30pm. San Antonio will have the privilege of staying home for the next three games. After Ottawa the Scorpions will face the Carolina RialHawks in a midweek clash on 9/9/15. Then they will close the week out with the Indy Eleven on 9/12/15.
