Because it was an issue in 2014 and appeared to continue to be one in 2015, we have kept an eye on ejections for FC Dallas this season. In the team’s 4-0 loss at Sporting Kansas City on Friday, Zach Loyd earned his second yellow in the latter minutes of the first half and the team eventually was overwhelmed.
Toronto really want to make BMO Field a home, and they are doing it with wins. Toronto added another win at the new BMO Field with a 3-1 win against FC Dallas’ next opponents, the San Jose Earthquakes.
Goals from Justin Morrow, Warren Creavalle and Luke Moore got the home side another win, even with Chris Wondolowski’s 101st MLS goal. Sebastian Giovinco did not get on the score sheet, but he played a huge part in all three goals and ran rampant again. San Jose, on the other hand, have cooled some from earlier success in the season and fell out of the last playoff spot in the West.
On a day that saw its fair share of rain and some questioned whether this match would even happen, San Antonio found a way to get a point from a hard-fought match with the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers in their second to last home game of the Spring NASL Season.
Ft. Lauderdale came into San Antonio looking to avenge their defeat to the Scorpions in the 2014 NASL Championship. With the amount of rain that the pitch has seen in the last 30 days it was actually in remarkable condition. Players did have to alter their speed chasing down balls but it didn’t affect the tactical play and precision by either team.
Despite a poor start that saw them down 1-0 in the first nine minutes of their FIFA U-20 World Cup match to soccer minnows Myanmar, the US came back to tie the game in the first half, and then Emerson Hyndman, grandson of long time SMU and recent FC Dallas head coach Schellas Hyndman, got on the end of a US counterattack to give the US their first lead and win of the tournament.
Arsenal finished the 2014-2015 soccer year on a high note, taking the FA Cup with a 4-0 victory over Aston Villa. While the team finished a bit back of league champions Chelsea, finally ending up in 3rd and the automatic UEFA Champions League spot that accompanies it, Arsenal can go into the summer with some hardware to add to the trophy case, as well as a record and some confidence that the awful start to 2014-2015 is well behind them.

FC Dallas continues a five match road trip in Kansas City after a 2-1 loss to the Montreal Impact. Sporting and Dallas faced off earlier this season, a match in which FC Dallas downed Kansas City 3-1 with a double from Blas Perez, and a finisher from Fabian Castillo. This a new Kansas City team though, even with the injuries they are facing (6 players listed as questionable; Marcel De Jong, Dom Dwyer, Roger Espinoza, Chance Myers, Jacob Peterson and Seth Sinovic), they should be a stout opponent for FC Dallas to duel with.
FC Dallas gets ready to take on a red hot Sporting Kansas City this Friday. Head coach Oscar Pareja was excited about his team at practice this week and feels that they’re up to the challenge.
