Two teams riding a high came into RFK Stadium to do battle, and DC United proved dominant over FC Dallas with a thumping.  United came out in a 4-1-2-1-2 with Eddie Johnson and Fabian Espindola up top, where FC Dallas came out in a 4-2-3-1 with Blas Perez alone up top.

Mauro Diaz opened the scoring in the 13’ minute with some good team-play a lovely finish into the bottom left-corner to make it 1-0.  Chris Seitz kept Dallas in the game, and the first half ended at 1-0.  It was all downhill from there for FC Dallas.

Fabian Espindola got DC on the board at the end of the first half at the 49’ minute mark.  An Eddie Johnson cross was knocked home to make it 1-1.  In the second half at the 60’ minute mark, a Chris Seitz save was knocked into the path of Bobby Boswell who slammed it past Chris Seitz for his first of the season, and to make it 2-1.  The goals continued to pour out as Sean Franklin tapped a Fabian Espindola pass towards the far post and past Seitz for the third goal of the game.  The fourth came on a tidy Espindola strike into the bottom right corner in the 69’ minute to make it 4-1.  Zach Loyd Picked up his second yellow in the 89’ minute, therefore FC Dallas will be without him for the next match.

The match ended 4-1 in DC’s favor to extend their six game unbeaten streak.  FC dallas’ lack of focus now sends them back to Frisco on a three game losing streak.  FC Dallas hosts New York, and D.C. will be back in action in Portland against the Timbers.
