Las Vegas, NEVADA _ The Dallas Sidekicks earned an important victory on Thursday evening, beating the Las Vegas Legends 4-2. The road win puts the Sidekicks in great shape for the playoffs and sets up another classic showdown with the San Diego Sockers on Friday night.

Dallas got off to the start they wanted with 3 first quarter goals, and that was all they needed with their stingy defense and league-leading goalie Sagu backing them up. Patrick Shamu scored two unassisted goals to open the scoring, bringing his total to eight on the season. The first came in the sixth minute of play, while the second was in the 10th minute. Paolo Da Silva then put in the game winner, his fourth goal of the season, with just over a minute left to play in the quarter.

The second quarter was scoreless, but after the break it was Las Vegas that got on the scoreboard. Rodrigo Barbirato netted his 20th goal of the season, an unassisted effort with 12 minutes gone. Dallas put the game away in the 4th quarter when Shaun David scored after only 23 seconds had elapsed, assisted by Frank Mbemba. The Legends scored a consolation goal with a minute left in the game on a power play to make the final tally 4-2.

Friday night the Sidekicks will take on the San Diego Sockers at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. There will be a watching party on Friday night from 9:00 p.m. to midnight at Dave & Busters, 9450 North Central Expressway in Dallas. Forward Carlos Videla, unable to travel due to injury concerns, will host the party.
