Dallas takes difficult road trip out West in search of playoff certainty

Sidekicks Embark on Tough Road Trip

The Dallas Sidekicks are on a tough road trip this week, their final one of the regular season. On Thursday, January 31 they take on the Las Vegas Legends and on Friday they will be in San Diego to meet the Sockers. With just four games left in the regular season, the Sidekicks are in first place in the Central Division, one game ahead of the Chicago Mustangs. These game are critical to the team in its hunt for a playoff spot as they just have four games left.

Las Vegas has wrapped up a Southwestern Division title in their first year in the league with an 11-2 record. Enrique Tovar and Ricardo Sobreira lead the team in scoring, each sitting on 42 points. After taking on the Legends, the Sidekicks head to Southern California where they will meet the Sockers on Friday night. Kraig Chiles leads the team and the league in scoring with 54 points and 43 goals.

The Sidekicks are led by forward Jamie Lovegrove, who has 25 points and 20 goals. He sparked the ‘Kicks to their dramatic win over the Soccers last weekend, scoring four goals in the overtime effort. Frank Mbemba is second in scoring, totaling 23 points and 17 goals. Goalkeeper Sagu (9-1) leads the league with a save percentage of .790 and a goals against average of 3.44. The Sidekicks defense is the stingiest in the PASL, giving up only 45 goals so far.

There will be a watching party for the team’s game against San Diego on Friday night from 9:00 p.m. to midnight at Dave & Busters, 9450 North Central Expressway in Dallas, with forward Carlos Videla in attendance.
