The Dallas Sidekicks (9-2) play host to the San Diego Sockers (10—0) on Sunday, January 27 at 6 PM at the Allen Events Center. This is the first clash this season between these two old rivals and the Sockers currently hold a 47 game winning streak heading into the match-up. The Sockers are the two-time defending PASL champions, so this will be the biggest challenge yet for the revived Sidekicks.

Head Coach Tatu knows his team will have to be at their best: “It will be a battle for sure. We will have to play our best game of the season to come out on top.”

In their first season back, the Sidekicks are currently in first place atop the Central Division of the PASL. After a torrid start to the season, the Sidekicks are only 2-2 in their last four games. Dallas is coming off an 8-6 road loss to the re-tooled Rio Grande Valley Flash last Sunday. San Diego added a 10-3 road win over the struggling Harrisburg Heat to their unbeaten streak on Friday.

The Sidekicks have won all five home games so far, but have just three more home games in the regular season. Dallas is locked in a tight battle with the Flash for first place in the division, so this game will be vital for the division race as well as league bragging rights.

Dallas is led by Frank Mbemba with 17 goals, followed by Jamie Lovegrove who has 16 goals. The Sockers are led by Kraig Chiles, who has a league leading 39 goals and 50 points. Dallas goalie Sagu leads the league with a goals against average (GAA) of 3.30 and a save percentage (SV) of .794. San Diego has two keepers splitting most of the playing time: Riley Swift (5-0) has a GAA of 4.33 and SV of .726, while Chris Toth (4-0 has a GAA of 3.75 and SV of .792.
