Sidekicks fall in OT for first loss of the season
CHICAGO, Ill. _ The Dallas Sidekicks’ unbeaten run in the current PASL season ended tonight with an 8-7 overtime loss to the Chicago Mustangs.
It was a back and forth affair, but unlike last night’s game against Rockford, the efforts to once again come from behind was unsuccessful.
After one period, Chicago was ahead by a goal. After no scoring in the second period, Dallas took the lead in the third with two goals.
Three straight goals by the Mustangs once again put them in front for good. Dallas twice came back from 2-goal deficits to tie the game, but never again led the match.
The final dagger was put home by Bryan Velazaquez at 4:57 in the overtime period.
The Sidekicks are 8-1 on the season and in first place in the division with Chicago a half-game back. Dallas has a quick chance to get revenge for their first loss of the season with a game against the Mustangs on January 12 at the Allen Events Center.
